About Me

Welcome to my About Me page. Time to spill some beans on who I am. Seeing I’m not a big fan of talking about myself, I’ll let my wikipedia entry answer all of your questions.

Right. Okay. Well considering my name isn’t Norman, I guess I’ll have to tell you a little bit about myself… um, myself.

I’m currently a casual school teacher in Newcastle, New South Wales. I have a different teaching style to the traditional methods, which I tend to try and think of a different manner in which a lot of lessons can be taught and go with it. This is done primarily with an added focus on humour, fun and the arts – you can fit the arts in almost anything!

My methods have been critisized, rejected, praised and followed, so not everything you’ll read on my blog will be for you.

The purpose of this blog is to showcase some of the lessons and activities I have done in my time in various classrooms. Who knows, maybe someone reading them will pick up the idea, build on it and make it better?

I can be followed on Twitter @mageggah – the name came from the way some Kindergarten students say my surname.
You can email me, too.

I think that covers the basics that you’re looking for when you decided to click on the About Me link.

Enjoy your browse.

    Hi there!

Just a really quick thank you (of course, I am a teacher at school in the holidays haha) for all your amazing efforts to share what you have with the world!!

I have used your pen license, altered it to joining licence and have the children’s names on ready to go for next term and I am sure they will love it!!

I will enjoy exploring the rest of your blog site .. do you have anything on there about how teachers can best manage their time!?!?

You are true inspiration of what a good teacher would love to be doing, my only question is – how do you find the time to do all you do … AND write about it, being so kind to share!!

      Hello Loretta,

I just tried emailling you, but I’m getting told that the email address you supplied doesn’t exist. Can you get back to me with an alternate email address, please?

    Hi there

I would love to use your pen licence for my class but can’t download it. Would you mind emailing it to me? Thanks. It suits my style far more than anything else I’ve found, and I don’t have the time to create from scratch. Thank you!

    Hi,

I was wondering whether I could please borrow your License template for my class? It looks phenomenal!

I’ve tried to download it, but the file keeps coming as “corrupt”. I have noted my email address for you to contact me.

    Kind Regards,

    Jenny

    Hi Mr Mac.
Thanks for the great pen licence file.

For my computer to save it properly, I had to add the file extension .pub to the title. Otherwise I was unable to save it as a publisher file. This did the trick!

    Thanks again,
    Mike

    Hey there Mr Mac,

What a fantastic idea for a pen license, so clever. I would love to use your pen licence for my class. However, I am unable to edit the template and personalise it. If possible would you mind sending me the template please. I know my class of boys will work very hard to earn their super cool pen license.

Thank you & have a great day!

    Laura
